About this card

The LEGO Group started in 1932 in Billund, Denmark, when carpenter Ole Kirk Christiansen pivoted his small wooden-toy workshop into making sturdy children's toys. Two years later he coined the name from the Danish phrase "leg godt""play well" — never imagining it would also resolve to "I assemble" in Latin. The interlocking ABS plastic stud-and-tube brick we know today was patented in 1958, and every LEGO brick produced since is still mechanically compatible with every brick produced today. Six-plus decades of one tolerance spec is the entire moat.

The catalogue spans the famous themes — Star Wars, Technic, Architecture, Creator, Friends, Ninjago, Harry Potter, Marvel, City, Disney, Icons, Ideas — plus seasonal launches, Botanical, Speed Champions, BrickHeadz, DUPLO for younger builders, MINDSTORMS-style robotics, and the Adults-Welcome 18+ display sets. Some flagship pieces (Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars sets, modular buildings, the larger Architecture skylines, the Ideas community-designed sets) are only sold on the regional lego.com — never at toy retailers — making the gift card the only path to them. Every order also earns LEGO Insiders points (formerly VIP), redeemable for vouchers, member-only sets and early-access windows.

Each card is region-locked to the country of issue. A US card redeems on lego.com only; a UK card on lego.com/en-gb only; a German card on lego.com/de-de; a French card on lego.com/fr-fr; and equivalently for Canada, Australia and Japan. Cards do not cross-region redeem — a US card simply will not validate at the UK checkout, even for the same set, because the regional storefronts are separate inventory and pricing systems. Pick the recipient's actual country of residence carefully; that's also where the order will physically ship from.

You'll never share a LEGO account, name or government ID with us — only an email to receive the 16-digit code and PIN, typically inside 11 minutes of payment confirmation. Crypto rails save us a small percent on payment processing and we pass it back as the discount on each variant — and unlike a credit-card payment, there is no LEGO line item on a bank statement, which suits the AFOL collector building a $400 UCS set as well as the parent buying a quiet birthday surprise from the household account.

What you get

  • A claim code, delivered by email
  • A private order page (14-day access)
  • Re-issue or full refund if the code fails
  • No LEGO login or ID required

How to redeem

Same flow on every LEGO store — only the URL changes per region.

  1. Open the matching regional store — pick the URL shown on the variant chip you bought (e.g. lego.com for US, lego.com/en-gb for UK, lego.com/de-de for Germany). Sign in or check out as guest; either works.
  2. Add sets to the bag as normal, then proceed to checkout.
  3. At the Payment step, select "LEGO eGift Card". Paste the 16-digit code and PIN from the delivery email.
  4. The balance applies to the order. Any remainder stays on the same code — reuse it on the next order. Insiders points are credited on the full order subtotal, gift-card paid or not.
  5. Check balance: each regional lego.com gift-card help page links a "Check eGift card balance" form — paste the code + PIN to see what's left.

Region terms

Specific to United States

United States · USD
Redeems on lego.com (US). Sets, exclusives, LEGO Insiders points on every purchase. No expiry under US federal CARD Act.
Universal terms
  • Region-locked at country level. The card redeems only on the lego.com regional storefront for its country of issue; cross-region redemption is not supported.
  • Validity: no expiry in US/CA under federal law; min 24 months in UK/DE/FR (EU consumer rules, LEGO typically issues longer); min 3 years in AU; JP per local terms shown on the delivery email. Per-variant note shown when you pick a store.
  • Refunds: non-refundable to a different payment method once redeemed. We re-issue a fresh code or refund the full amount in your original coin within 14 days if a code fails to validate.
  • Partial redemption supported — leftover balance stays on the same code, reusable until exhausted.
  • Bearer code — anyone with the 16-digit code + PIN can redeem; treat the delivery email like cash.
  • LEGO Insiders points still earn on the full order subtotal when paid by gift card, same as any other tender.
  • Cannot be used to purchase other gift cards, and cannot redeem in physical LEGO Brand Retail stores in some regions — online only on the matching lego.com.

Asked & answered

Specifics for LEGO cards. For general crypto-payment questions, see the site FAQ.

Which LEGO store does my gift card redeem on?

LEGO eGift cards are region-locked to the country of issue. A US card redeems only on lego.com (US store); a UK card only on lego.com/en-gb; a German card only on lego.com/de-de; and so on for the seven markets we sell. The exact store URL appears on each variant chip above and on your order confirmation.

Can I use a US LEGO card on lego.com/en-gb?

No. The LEGO Group runs region-specific storefronts with separate inventory, pricing and currency, and the gift-card backend treats each as its own ledger. A US card simply will not validate at checkout on the UK, German, French, Canadian, Australian or Japanese sites — you'll see "code not recognised". Always pick the recipient's actual country of residence when buying.

Can I buy LEGO exclusives (UCS Star Wars, Architecture flagships) with this card?

Yes. The card is treated as a payment method, so it works on every set in the regional catalogue — including the lego.com-only exclusives like the Ultimate Collector Series Star Wars sets, Icons (formerly Creator Expert) flagships, the Architecture and Botanical lines, the Ideas fan-designed sets, and any VIP Insiders early-access drops. It also covers LEGO branded apparel, books and the occasional video-game tie-in sold via Insiders.

Does the card expire?

Largely no. US — no expiry (federal CARD Act 2009 prohibits gift-card expiry under five years and most issuers including LEGO simply don't expire). UK / DE / FR — minimum 24 months from issue under EU/UK consumer law; LEGO typically sets a longer window. CA — no expiry on Canadian gift cards (federal law). AU — minimum 3 years (Australian Consumer Law 2019). JP — see local terms on the email you receive. The exact validity for the variant you pick is shown in the region note above.

Will the recipient earn LEGO Insiders points when paying with this card?

Yes. LEGO Insiders (formerly VIP) credits points on the full order subtotal, regardless of how it was paid — gift card, credit card, PayPal, all the same. So a $250 order paid entirely with a card from us still earns the same Insiders points as if it had been paid by Visa, redeemable for vouchers, exclusive sets and early access on lego.com.

Can I split a single card across multiple orders?

Yes. Partial redemption is supported on every regional LEGO store. Apply the code at checkout, the order deducts what it needs, and the remaining balance stays on the same code for next time. The "Check balance" link on each lego.com regional gift-card page lets you see what's left at any time.

What if the code doesn't work?

Reach us via the order page within 14 days. We re-issue a fresh code or refund the full amount in your original coin — no forms, no proof required. Almost all failures are typos when keying the code by hand; copy-paste from the delivery email at checkout is the safer path.

Why pay for a LEGO gift in crypto?

Two grown-up reasons and one practical: privacy on a hobby spend (adult LEGO collectors — AFOLs — building a UCS Millennium Falcon don't necessarily want a $850 line item on the joint bank statement), privacy on a child's gift (a parent buying a birthday surprise from a shared card is not exactly subtle), and reach (works without a credit card, useful for international gifters or anyone whose card issuer fights cross-border purchases). We pass payment-rail savings back as a small per-region discount.
