About this card

The Uber Gift Card is the official card issued by Uber Technologies Inc. — the San Francisco mobility company (NYSE: UBER) that runs the Uber rides network and Uber Eats delivery network on a single account. The headline you don't get from food-delivery cards: one code → one Uber wallet → the recipient spends on RIDES or on UBER EATS, per-trip, their call. No commitment at gifting time. If they end up wanting groceries delivered instead of an airport ride that week, the same balance still applies. If they end up needing five Uber X trips and zero takeout, same balance still applies. Dual-use is the point.

The rides side covers the full Uber catalogue in the matching country: Uber X (everyday), Uber XL (groups), Uber Black (premium), Comfort, Premier, Pet, Reserve (scheduled rides), plus airport pickups and intercity routes where Uber operates. The Uber Eats side covers restaurants (local independents + national chains), Uber Grocery where live (mainstream supermarkets delivering through Uber), alcohol where licensed, and retail partners. In markets where Uber One is live (US, UK, AU, MX, BR, JP and most EU), the balance can also fund the monthly subscription that bundles ride discounts + free Eats delivery — Uber One is a separate product from this gift card, but the wallet is its default funding source.

Region-locked by design. Uber accounts have a country setting tied to the local marketplace — the currency, the supported ride types, the Eats restaurant pool and the wallet itself are all bound to that country. A US Uber Gift Card redeems only on a US-set Uber account; a UK card only on a UK account; and the same applies across all 9 markets we sell (US, UK, Germany, France, Canada, Australia, Mexico, Brazil, Japan). Cross-region redemption is blocked. Switching the country setting on an existing Uber account is technically possible but friction: Uber requires resetting the saved payment method and can reset the wallet balance in the process. Pick the recipient's region carefully at purchase — we cannot transfer a card between markets after issue.

Crypto checkout in ~11 minutes: the email-delivered code lands as soon as your transaction confirms, with no KYC, no ID, no Uber account required at purchase (the recipient redeems on their own existing or new Uber account). Privacy on the statement matters for two-product cards: Uber rides leave a trail of where you went, and Uber Eats leaves a trail of what you ordered — neither shows up as a card line item when the gift was paid in crypto. The dual-use also helps in markets where international cards on Uber decline at the processor level: the credit is on the local Uber account directly, no foreign-card friction, and the recipient picks rides or food as their week unfolds.

What you get

  • A claim code, delivered by email
  • A private order page (14-day access)
  • Re-issue or full refund if the code fails
  • No Uber & Uber Eats login or ID required

How to redeem

Same flow on every Uber & Uber Eats store — only the URL changes per region.

  1. Open the Uber app on iOS or Android, or sign in on uber.com/redeem (account country must match the card's country).
  2. Tap your profile icon → open Wallet.
  3. Tap "Add Gift Card" (or "Redeem Gift Card", depending on app version).
  4. Enter the gift card code from your delivery email and confirm.
  5. The balance lands on your Uber wallet immediately and applies automatically to your next ride OR Uber Eats order — your choice, per-trip. Unused credit stays on the account for future rides and orders.

Quick link: uber.com/redeem auto-routes to your country site once you're signed in.

Region terms

Specific to United States

United States · USD
USD voucher for the US Uber market. Funds rides AND Uber Eats orders on one wallet — recipient picks per-trip. Redeems on a US-set Uber account at uber.com/redeem or in the Uber app.
Universal terms
  • Region-locked. Each card redeems only on the Uber country market it was issued for. Cross-region redemption is blocked at the Uber wallet level.
  • Validity: US — no expiry (federal CARD Act); UK / EU — 24+ months minimum (consumer-law floor); CA / AU — typically no expiry; JP — see local terms in the Uber Japan app.
  • Account country must match the card's country at the time of redemption. Switching country on an Uber account requires resetting the payment method and can reset the wallet balance.
  • Dual-use wallet. Balance applies automatically to both rides AND Uber Eats — you cannot earmark it to one product. The recipient picks per-trip at checkout.
  • Partial redemption supported. Balance reusable across unlimited rides + Eats orders. When a charge exceeds the balance, Uber bills the remainder to the default payment method on the account.
  • Non-refundable once redeemed. Cancelled-ride and cancelled-order refunds return as Uber credit on the wallet, not crypto.
  • Bearer code until redeemed: forward the email to anyone with an Uber account in the matching country.
  • If the code fails to redeem on the correct country market: re-issue or full refund in your original coin within 14 days.
  • Uber's standard Terms of Service apply to all rides and Uber Eats orders placed with the credit.

Asked & answered

Specifics for Uber & Uber Eats cards. For general crypto-payment questions, see the site FAQ.

Does this card cover rides AND Uber Eats, or just one?

Both — on the same wallet. One Uber Gift Card code lands as a single balance on the recipient's Uber account. From that moment the credit funds any Uber ride (Uber X, XL, Black, Comfort, Premier, Pet, Reserve, airport pickups, scheduled rides — whatever the local market offers) and any Uber Eats order (restaurants, Uber Grocery where live, alcohol where licensed, retail). The recipient picks per-trip whether to spend the balance on a ride or on food — they don't commit at gifting time. The wallet automatically applies whichever way they choose at checkout.

Which Uber country market does this card work on?

Each card is region-locked to a single country: US (USD), UK (GBP), Germany (EUR), France (EUR), Canada (CAD), Australia (AUD), Mexico (MXN), Brazil (BRL) or Japan (JPY). Uber accounts have a country setting tied to the local marketplace — the wallet, the supported ride types, the Eats catalogue and the currency are all per-country. Pick the recipient's Uber-account country; cards cannot be transferred between markets after issue.

Can I use a US Uber card on a UK Uber account?

No — cross-region redemption is blocked. A US Uber Gift Card redeems only on a US-set Uber account; a UK card only on a UK-set account; and so on for all 9 markets we sell. The wallet is per-country: the currency, the rides catalogue and the Uber Eats restaurant pool are all bound to the account's country setting. Switching country on an Uber account is friction (it requires resetting the saved payment method, sometimes resetting the wallet balance) and isn't a fix-it for a region mismatch. Pick the right country at purchase.

Can the wallet pay for Uber One membership / monthly subscription?

In most markets yes — Uber Gift Card balance can be applied to Uber One (the paid subscription that bundles ride discounts + free Uber Eats delivery). The wallet is the account's default funding source for any Uber-billed charge, and Uber One renewals fall into that bucket. Note that Uber One is a separate product from this gift card — buying a gift card does not grant Uber One; the recipient still chooses to subscribe (or not) using the balance. Availability of Uber One varies by country: live in US, UK, AU, MX, BR, JP and most EU markets; not yet everywhere.

Does the card expire?

Depends on the region. US: no expiry under the federal CARD Act (gift card balance is preserved indefinitely). UK / EU (DE / FR): 24+ months from issue date by EU consumer-law minimum, often longer. CA / AU: no expiry by domestic gift-card law (Canada's Consumer Protection Acts and Australia's 3-year minimum extended to indefinite by most issuers). JP: see local terms in the Uber Japan app — typically multi-year. We deliver fresh codes the moment your crypto payment confirms, so the validity clock starts the day we email you, not earlier.

Can I split the gift card across multiple rides AND food orders?

Yes. Once redeemed, the credit sits on the Uber account as a balance. Each ride or each Uber Eats order automatically deducts the amount you spent, and the rest stays on the account for the next time. So a $200 US card can fund a $25 airport ride, three $15 lunch deliveries, a $40 night-out ride, and still leave $90 on the wallet. Partial redemption is built in — when a ride or order exceeds the available balance, Uber charges the remainder to the default payment method on the account. There's no cap on how many rides + Eats orders you mix.

Refund policy if the code doesn't work

Open your order page (the link is in the original delivery email and at /pay/<order#>) within 14 days. We re-issue a fresh code or refund the full amount in your original coin — your choice. The most common failure modes: (a) typo on the code, (b) attempting to redeem on an Uber account whose country doesn't match the card's country (US card on a UK account, etc. — Uber will reject the code), or (c) trying to redeem in an outdated app version (update Uber from the App Store / Play Store and try again). Once redeemed, balance is non-refundable per Uber's terms — refunds for cancelled rides or Eats orders return as Uber credit on the wallet.

Why pay for an Uber gift in crypto?

Three reasons that matter for ride + delivery gifts. Privacy on the statement: an Uber card paid in crypto leaves no bank-statement trail of where the recipient went on rides or what they ordered for delivery — useful for sensitive trips (medical, legal, travel) and for keeping mobility / food spending off shared family or business cards. Reach: works for buyers in markets where international cards on Uber struggle (foreign processor declines), and the dual-use means the recipient isn't locked to "rides only" or "food only" — if their plans change, the same balance still applies. No-KYC checkout: only a delivery email is collected — no account, no ID, no card number. Code arrives in ~11 minutes after your transaction confirms.
